Hi, I’m Ali 👋
Reinventing old, unloved and unused furniture is my absolute passion.
We are a local, North East business with a social and environmental conscience. We take your old and unloved furniture and give it a new lease of life. Beautiful, bespoke pieces are just a loving reinvention away.
Our upcycled creations add character to any home, including tables, seating, lampshades, storage and display units.
With imagination and an eye for detail, we also work to commission, creating unique individual pieces. We can even give those sentimental items you don’t want to part with a new lease of life, making them part of your home whilst also helping to keep more furniture out of landfill.
We really love what we do and take enormous pride and satisfaction from creating beautiful and inspiring projects for the unwanted and neglected. We look forward to hearing from you and discussing how we can bring your furniture back to life.

Business History
Our Short Story, so far
After a long career in Secondary Education, it was time for a new direction. What started out as an interest soon became my passion.
2017
Family Changes
After the birth of my twin daughters, the pressures of working in education became a real challenge. Once I made the decision to go part-time, I attended classes to learn about upholstery and begun to create my first pieces.
2019
Taking the Leap
Once I had developed my skills, confidence over the previous two years, I took the leap and began to work full time on Reinvented. Initially working for friends and family, I quickly built a good reputation and started to develop my social media presence and website.
2022
Becoming a CIC
After 4 years of running Reinvented with Love and moving into my first premises in Sunniside I decided to make the transition to a Community Interest Company to focus on teaching what I have learnt to others. I am now happily settled in Sunderland.

This is us. Ali, I am the director and face of Reinvented, I lead on commissions and workshops. This is Ziggy he is mainly in charge of policing the spiders in the workshop and providing moral support. And Marion, my wonderful Mum who can work out how to fix pretty much anything and is our sewing guru.
